    Source audit at 42549de7: UIKit already forwards coalesced Pencil samples and pressure, filters finger/Pencil input, and supports preferred double-tap actions. Pencil hover has no host path. InkGesture omits superclass lifecycle calls required by the installed UIKit subclass contract; its touch-type admission also relies on a platform-dependent default. These are source findings; no physical Pencil or palm-rejection result is claimed.

    Picker-closed Pencil input also leaves the onscreen Undo/Redo buttons hidden; native history/menu paths remain available. Reader candidate 76298065 correctly leaves Reader before selecting a drawing tool, including a repeated tool selection. Android's current lab input is independent and does not establish stylus, cancellation, pressure or hover support.

    Needs Clover: a real iPad with an Apple Pencil, to check drawing, palm rejection and hover. The simulator can't. The ink recognizer lifecycle fix landed on 2026-10-15 (b08a0e92).
